What's happening at Preston Tower?
RIAS Annual Awards 2026
The sensitive repair and partial restoration of Preston Tower and Doocot, during a four year collaborative project overseen by architect Natasha Huq of GRAS, won a prestigious award from the Royal Institute of Architects who named it as one of their ten outstanding buildings of 2026.
Community Open Days
Our volunteers staff the Tower and Doocot to open their doors to the public once a month from March until September. Keep an eye on our social media for further details of the next event.
Our open days are completely FREE to attend, but donations towards future projects and overheads are always very welcome.
Repopulate our Doocot
In 2024, before we were given a set of keys, Anne, one of our amazing volunteers knitted a single pigeon for us called Preston. Before we knew it an idea was born to repopulate out 17th century doocot with woollen friends and knitters and crocheters across the country began to answer our appeal.
So far, some very talented crafters have filled 251 of our 462 roosting boxes. Can you help us fill the remainder?
